SUNY Geneseo, having built a distinctive intercollegiate athletic program characterized by and nationally honored for its commitments to community service, student leadership development and sportsmanship, seeks an industrious assistant coach and recruiter to assist in the oversight and development of our nationally competitive men’s and women’s swimming and diving program.
The successful candidate will possess, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree and a record of accomplishment as a student-athlete, and current CPR/AED, lifeguard, and WSI certifications. Preferred candidates will possess previous collegiate coaching experience; aquatic management experience; and demonstrated ability to improve the performance of competitive swimmers and divers.
The assistant coach will assist the head coach in all aspects of the men’s and women’s swimming program, including meet day operations, in full accordance with NCAA Division III, SUNYAC, and SUNY Geneseo regulations and procedures.
This is a part-time, ten month position with a salary of $22,000 and benefits, with a starting date of August 2013.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and acceptance in to desired Master’s program at the University of Findlay
Experience in collegiate competition is preferred
Knowledge of strokes, as well as competition training, technique and strategy
Basic computer skills (preferred knowledge of Hy-Tek software or ability to learn it)
Compensation:
GA Award carries an annual stipend ($4,500+) and 12 credits of graduate tuition remission
The position is opened for those pursuing a Master’s degree on a continued basis over consecutive years based on performance
Candidate must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student

The Athletic Department at Saint Vincent College currently has an opening for a part-time Assistant Swimming Coach. This position is responsible for coaching according to the rules and policies of Saint Vincent College and the NCAA.
Required Qualifications:
Education: A baccalaureate degree is preferred.
Experience: Prior playing experience or prior coaching experience.
Essential Duties:
1. Assists in promoting the intercollegiate programs of the College. Is thoroughly familiar with eligibility rules and abides by them. Promotes a high standard of athletics based upon the athletic and academic philosophy of Saint Vincent College and the NCAA.
2. Assists in preparing budgets and controlling expenditures. Assists in assuring maximum utilization of funds.
3. Assists in providing supervision of Athletic Department facilities.
4. Assists in providing supervision to sure and maintain athletic equipment.
5. Assist in “game-day” management, specifically “game-day preparation and management for Fall and Winter sports.
6. Is responsible for scouting and recruiting.

Duties:
Duties may include: Assist in development of student-athletes through on deck coaching, stroke review and meet preparation; identify and recruit potential student-athletes who meet the academic standards of the College as well as the athletic quality of the program; assist in the academic mentoring of student-athletes; assist with meet management and possess familiarity with hytek, team manager, meet manager and Colorado timing systems. The Assistant Swimming Coach also serves as a Building Supervisor throughout the year.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and experience as a competitive swimming coach required. Demonstrated ability to establish good rapport and effective working relationships with student–athletes, coaches, staff and alumni and ability to work weekends and maintaining a flexible work schedule required. The successful candidate also needs to show ability to manage student workers as part of the responsibility as a Building Supervisor during the summer.
Preferred qualifications: Experience coaching collegiate swimming; Strong understanding of energy systems, race tactics, sports psychology.

The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the organization, administration and promotion of all aspects of the UNC Asheville Women's Swimming program with effective management and administration of all team facets. This position is responsible for assisting the program in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Athletics and the University. This position is classified as a 10-month position, receiving a $15,000 stipend with no benefits. Assistance in finding housing can be provided if necessary.
