Cal Overtakes Men's Poll, Stanford Remains #1
For the third time in four polls, there's a new number one atop the CSCAA TYR Top 25 Swimming and Diving Poll. The University of California men, following a win over 7 Georgia and #17 Auburn at the Georgia Fall Invitational have been voted the nation's top men's dual meet team. On the women's side, Stanford, which captured the Ohio State Invitational two weeks ago, remains number one.
Among men's teams, Texas was ranked second, knocking previous number-one NC State down to third. Stanford's men dove into a tie with Indiana for fourth following the Texas Invitational. Four of the top five men's teams have been ranked #1 at some point this season.
For the women, California and Georgia tied for second behind Stanford following the Georgia Invitational. Other teams that saw their rankings affected by the UGA Invite were Virginia (fourth), and MIchigan (sixth). Texas, led by Madisyn Cox, this week's National Swimmer-of-the-Week, fell one spot to fifth.
The next poll will be released January 18th.
