Stanford Women, Indiana Men Lead Poll

The Stanford women and Indiana men have been voted number one in the latest CSCAA / TYR Top 25 Poll of Division I swimming and diving teams. The CSCAA / TYR Dual Meet Polls are designed to measure head-to-head dual meet strength

The Cardinal were selected first in the the preseason poll.  The Texas women moved up one spot to number two and the Michigan women had an impressive jump from 6th to 3rd.

On the men's side, Indiana University jumped ahead of many top ranking teams from last year's NCAA's: California, Florida, Stanford, Texas, and NC State. This past weekend Indiana (191 pts.) beat Florida (140 pts.) and Texas (98 pts.)

"Two fantastic wins over the defending NCAA champion Texas Longhorns and third-place Florida Gators," IU head swimming coach Ray Looze said. "Sweeping all the relays put a statement on the competition that we can be a force to be reckoned with come NCAA's in March. I was really proud of our young diving contingent for really stepping up in scoring some valuable points. They allowed us to leave Mike Hixon and James Conner at home to prepare for Winter Nationals later in the semester, which makes these wins even more impressive."

The next poll will be released November 8th.
