Texas Men and Virginia Women Lead Preseason Polls
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released its Division I preseason poll today. The committee, comprised of Division I coaches and select media outlets, ranks the top 25 teams in the nation based on dual meet strength. Texas men and Virginia women, both 2021 National Champions, take the top spot in the preseason poll.
The Longhorns received all fifteen first-place votes while California ranked second on each ballot. Florida is third, making the top three spots identical to the final 2021 rankings of the 2020-21 season. NC State is fourth and Indiana is fifth. In all, thirty-two teams received votes.
Virginia collected twelve of fifteen first-place votes with second-ranked Stanford claiming the remaining three. Only 8 points separate third through fifth with NC State holding third, just ahead of Michigan and Texas.
