Arizona State Men and Virginia Women Ranked #1 in CSCAA November Polls

The Arizona State Men and University of Virginia Women sit atop the CSCAA November Polls

November 16, 2023 - Lewisburg, PA - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the November edition of Division I Top 25 dual meet poll. The Arizona State men and University of Virginia women are the top dual meet teams in the country. Both teams were ranked first in the Preseason poll.

The committee, consisting of Division I coaches, assesses and ranks the nation's top 25 dual meet teams. Their evaluation takes into account head-to-head dual meet outcomes, performances since the last rankings, season-long performances, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It's important to note that the poll's objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.

In the men's rankings, the Sun Devils earned the unanimous top spot after a strong start to the season with 350 points. NC State moves into our second spot with 334 points  Florida (312) and Cal (296) round out the top 4 while Texas A&M (281) and Indiana (281) tied for 5th. The big movers on the Men's side were Texas A&M (8 spots), and Notre Dame (7 spots). Florida State (17),  Arizona (18) and Pitt (21) makes their season debut in the top 25. Overall 30 programs received votes.

In the women's rankings, the top-ranked Cavaliers were once again unanimously voted as the number one ranked team with 375 points. Texas (360) remained at the second spot, followed by NC State (330), Southern Cal (329) and Florida (311) in the top 5. Notable risers are Georgia (5 spots), Texas A&M (14 spots) and Auburn (4 spots). While South Carolina (17), Arkansas (22) and Missouri (24) make their first appearance of the year. Overall, 31 teams received votes.

The committees extensively discussed the rankings for teams situated in the middle of the polls. It was noted that compelling arguments could be presented for placing most of these teams within 1-3 spots of their actual positions, given the closely matched talent levels among nearly 10 teams.

*Note: Voting took place before the beginning of Mid-Season invites taking place this weekend.
