Virginia Women go wire-to-wire atop Dual Meet Polls
March 7, 2024 - Lewisburg, PA - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the final edition of the Division I Top 25 dual-meet poll. The University of Virginia women finish the year having been voted at the top spot in each month's edition.
The Division I men’s rankings, initially scheduled for release today, are now set to be released on Tuesday, March 12 to allow for the consideration of the Men’s Pac-12 Championship.
The committee, consisting of Division I coaches, assesses and ranks the nation's top 25 dual-meet teams. Their evaluation takes into account head-to-head dual-meet outcomes, performances since the last rankings, season-long performances, dual-meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It's important to note that the poll's objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.
The top-ranked Cavaliers (375) showcased both their world-class top-end talent and their depth by winning the ACC Championships by more than 500 points two weekends ago. The Florida Gators (356) leapfrogged Texas (349), changing up the top two for the first time this year. Cal (328) and Southern California (309) round out the top five following strong performances at the Women's Pac-12 championships. The Lady Volunteers made the biggest leap up to sixth from 12th, while North Carolina, up four spots to 14th, and Michigan, up three spots to 13th, make significant jumps as well. UCLA (21) was the only program to appear after not being ranked last month.
*While the committee takes conference championship results into account, the poll is meant to rank teams based on how they might perform in a dual-meet setting.

Each committee includes ten representatives from the Power Five leagues and five at-large programs. The committee chairs for women and men are Naya Higashijima (NMU) and Bill Roberts (Navy), respectively.
