Eddie Reese: A Legacy of Excellence in Collegiate Swimming

The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) proudly announces that Eddie Reese has been selected as the recipient of the CSCAA Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the highest honors bestowed by the association. Reese, who retired from coaching in 2024, was chosen by the CSCAA Executive Board from an exceptional group of nominees in recognition of a career that reshaped collegiate swimming and diving and left an enduring legacy on the sport.

CSCAA Honors Cyndi Gallagher with Richard E. Steadman Award

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) proudly announces Cyndi Gallagher as the 2026 recipient of the prestigious Richard E. Steadman Award. The honor is conferred annually to a swimming or diving coach in high school, club, or university ranks who, in the opinion of the International Swimming Hall of Fame, the CSCAA Forum, and the CSCAA, has done the most to spread happiness in Coach Steadman’s beloved sport of swimming and diving.

Mike Unger Selected as Ben Franklin Award Recipient

The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is proud to announce that Mike Unger, a longtime leader in the swimming community whose work has shaped elite competition, event management, and the global presentation of the sport, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 CSCAA Ben Franklin Award.

Mark Bernardino Awarded CSCAA’s Highest Distinction by Fellow Coaches

Mark Bernardino, former head coach of the University of Virginia swimming and diving teams and associate head coach at North Carolina State University and the University of South Carolina, has been awarded the prestigious National Collegiate and Scholastic Trophy. Bernardino, who served as the CSCAA President from 2010-2012, was voted on by the CSCAA’s membership for this recognition. As the CSCAA’s highest honor, the award honors a coach who has made the greatest contribution to swimming and diving as a competitive sport within undergraduate and scholastic education. Bernardino will be formally recognized at the CSCAA Annual Awards Celebration on May 4th in Chicago, Illinois.
