Hopkins, Named Franklin Winner after Fight to Protect Athletes from Abuse

Sage Hopkins, who reported the sexual harassment of more than a dozen female swimmers against a San Jose State University athletic trainer and then spent twelve years fending off the school’s retaliatory efforts, has been named the CSCAA’s Ben Franklin Award Winner. This award recognizes individuals or organizations whose efforts and innovations best promote the integrity and enhancement of the student-athlete ideal. Hopkins was selected by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association’s (CSCAA) Board of Directors and will be recognized at the 61st Annual CSCAA College Swimming & Diving Awards on May 2nd, in Rosemont, Illinois.
National Invitational Championship Heads to Elkhart, IN

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) takes the National Invitational Championship (NIC) to Elkhart Health and Aquatics Center Elkhart, IN for 2022 and 2023. The NIC, presented by Myrtha Pools, is the largest and most innovative college swimming championship in the country.

NIC Spectator Policy Announced

General spectators will not be permitted at the the 2022 National Invitational Championship. This decision has been made as a result of local health guidance, the growth of the championship, and a need to utilize spectator seating for student-athletes. The Championship will be streamed live, March 10, 11 and 12th at www.cscaa.org.
Finalists Named for National Scholastic Collegiate Trophy

The nominees for the National Collegiate Scholastic Trophy were announced today by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The trophy is awarded by both the CSCAA and National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA). It is the highest honor in intercollegiate and interscholastic swimming and diving and awarded to the individual who has made “the greatest contribution to swimming as a competitive sport, and as a healthful, recreational activity in the province of undergraduate and scholastic education.”
Fall Scholar All-America Teams Named

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected 729 teams from 450 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2021 semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their Fall 2019 grade point averages and represent 18,029 student-athletes.
