This Fall the CSCAA is hosting weekly webinars and town halls. This week’s sessions are available to all CSCAA Member coaches and advanced registration is required. Thursday’s Division III Town Hall will be available to all Division III coaches.
Wagner Latest to Add Men’s Teams

Wagner College has announced that it was establishing men’s swimming and diving as a varsity intercollegiate sport beginning in Fall 2021. In doing so Wagner becomes the second Division I institution to announce the addition of a men’s team this summer.
Bluefield State Adds Teams for 2021-22

Bluefield State University has become the first university to announce the addition of men’s and women’s swimming for the 2021-22 season. In doing so, the Big Blues become the second Historically Black College and University (HBCU) to sponsor swimming, joining Division I Howard University. The announcement brings the total of new teams established since 2016 to seventy-three.
Hope is Not a Strategy
While descending from the backcountry on Sunday morning, my phone blew up. “Oh s$%t!” I thought before my alarm turned to anger “Who cuts their team on a SUNDAY?” Anger gave way to appreciation as I saw that Emma Sougstad, our social media manager, decided to let Instagram, Twitter and the Snapface know I had a birthday. That sense of appreciation yielded to apprehension as I read Emma’s post and saw the words “Fearless Leader” next to my name.
Coaches Name 2020 Scholar All-Americans

The CSCAA has named 1,479 swimmers and divers to Scholar All-American Team for the 2019-20 season. The award recognizes students that have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and qualified for their respective national championships.
Spring Scholar All-America Teams Selected

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected a record 789 programs from 461 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2020 semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their Spring grade point averages and represent 17,982 student-athletes.
Coaches Ask NCAA to Delay Recruiting
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) is calling on the NCAA to limit recruiting in the upcoming year. In a letter to members of the NCAA’s Student-Athlete Experience Committee (SAEC) and Division I Council Coordination Committee (CCC), the association requested an extension of the current recruiting dead period until December and a prohibition on on-campus visits through March of 2021.
Five Elected to Board of Directors
Mandy DiSalle of the University of Cincinnati, Jeanne Fleck of Fresno State University, Patrick Snively of Fairmont State University, Teresa Fish of Illinois Wesleyan University and Purdue University’s Brad Boswell have been elected to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Board of Directors. Additionally, University of Utah Head Coach Joe Dykstra officially began his two-year term as the association’s president.
Coaches Commit to Sustainably, Volunteer $6.2 Million From Budgets

In response to the financial impact COVID-19 is having on higher education and intercollegiate athletics, Division I swimming and diving coaches have banded together to slash costs and identify ways to make our sport more sustainable. To date, our coaches have voluntarily given back more than $6.2 million dollars from budgets for the coming year. The process is not easy, but we are more than just competitors. We are educators and stewards of a sport that has taught us the value of sacrifice and the importance of being a team player.
Once A Saluki, Always A Saluki. Walker Selected for Lifetime Achievement Award

Rick Walker, head coach of Southern Illinois University, has been selected to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Executive Board of the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA).
