Association Announces Board Candidates

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has unveiled a list of nine candidates for its Board of Directors and one for its Executive Board. The candidates include five men and five women representing each NCAA Division. This year’s election, which will take place online, will fill two divisional vacancies and a newly-created administrative position established last year. Members of the Board of Directors serve a two-year term and are eligible for up to three terms

LIU Latest to Add Men’s Swimming

Long Island University announced today that it was establishing men’s swimming as a varsity intercollegiate sport beginning in Fall 2020. In doing so Long Island becomes the tenth institution to add the sport for the upcoming season.

Coffee and Cake with Clark Campbell

Clark Campbell has history with the Jayhawks at Kansas University. After giving up his eligibility as an NCAA swimmer to be a pro triathlete, he wanted to give back to a field that had given so much to him. Accepting a graduate assistant position at KU after completing his undergraduate degree it was the start of his coaching career; making stops at West Virginia Wesleyan, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Evansville. Campbell shares that swimming has allowed he and his family to love something collectively and he will be forever grateful for the sport.

Pioneering Engineer, Notable Journalist Named McCaffree Award Recipients

Roger Von Jouanne, an accomplished Boeing engineer and Walter Rogers, III a notable broadcast journalist have been awarded the Charles McCaffree Award by the Executive Board of the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA). Rogers and Von Jouanne, both Southern Illinois University graduates, were selected in recognition of their accomplishments outside of the pool.

On April 13, the commissioners of the American Athletic Conference, Mid-America Conference, Sun Belt Conference, Conference USA, and the Mountain West Conference sent a letter to NCAA President Mark Emmert, asking for consideration of a reduction in NCAA Division I sports sponsorship minimums. This represents the single greatest threat college swimming and diving has ever faced*.

Youngstown State Leaders Awarded Special Recognition

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced Youngstown State’s President James Tressel and Athletic Director Ron Strollo will receive Special Recognition Awards for their roles in reinstating men’s swimming and diving at the university. The award is a first for the organization and is, according to the CSCAA President Clark Campbell, the result of the extraordinary efforts of Strollo and Tressel.

CSCAA Names Division I All-American Team

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) selected its Division I All-American team. Due to the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, the CSCAA Board adjusted the selection criteria for each Division.

Division II All-American Team Selected

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected its Division III All-American team. Due to the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, the CSCAA Board adjusted the selection criteria for each Division.

Division III All-American Team Selected

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected its Division III All-American team. Due to the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship, the CSCAA Board adjusted the selection criteria for each Division. In Division III, selections were based upon those individuals and relays that were selected to the championship and members of the CSCAA.
