Queens (NC) Men and Women Top Final Poll

March 6, 2019 – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) have released their fourth TYR Top 25 Dual Meet Swimming and Diving Poll of the 2018-19 season.  The Queens University men and women kept their number one positions from last month.

Who is Safe?

Our sport is not a zero-sum game.  On the contrary.  It is healthiest when we have a diversity of programs competing for and contributing something of value for their institution.  For some institutions, that means a NCAA or conference championship trophy, while at others it means posting the department’s APR.

California Cap Dual Season at #1 in TYR Top 25

February 25, 2019 – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) have released the final men’s   TYR Top 25 Dual Meet Poll of the 2018-19 swimming and diving season.  The California men held their spot at #1.

Youngstown State Bringing Back Men

Youngstown State will add a men’s swimming and diving program as well as a women’s lacrosse team in the near future, Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Ron Strollo announced on Monday.

The Power of One

Fighting to keep your job or preserve your program can be soul-crushing.  Our losses are painful and public – there for everyone to see. At the same time our victories – out of fear that they are simply luck or merely temporary – remain hidden and are rarely acknowledged.  That means we only learn from our failures. This month, however, I met several coaches whose efforts are having a transformative effect in their department and on their campus. Of these, I’d like to share three examples who illustrate the influence that each of us can create.

CSCAA Celebrates Student-Athlete Success and Perfection for Seven Conferences

The CSCAA announced that seven conferences had 100% of their swimming and diving teams selected as Scholar All-America teams.  Every member of The American Athletic Conference, Big 12, Big East, Colonial Athletic Association, Missouri Valley, Northeast and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference- 161 teams in all – received Scholar All-America honors by earning GPAs of 3.00 or higher for the Fall Semester.
