Big Ten Leads First TYR/CSCAA Dual Meet Poll

The University of Michigan Women and Indiana University Men top the first College Swimming Coaches Association of America / TYR Top 25 Swimming & Diving Poll. Rankings are compiled by CSCAA-member coaches and released on a bi-weekly basis. The next polls will be released November 9, 2016.
CSCAA Recognizes 658 Teams for Academics

With Spring graduations having passed, the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has designated 658 swimming and diving teams, representing 388 colleges and universities as Scholar All-America teams. The recognition comes as a result of each team’s classroom performance in the past semester. It is only the second time in the program’s 30+ year history of the program that more than 600 teams.

A pair of wins against top ten teams have propelled the Stanford University women’s swimming and diving team to the top of the final Division I Women’s College Swimming Coaches Association / TYR Top 25. The Pac-12 Conference three of the top five spots in the ranking.

Longhorns Lead Gets Longer

Fresh off wins against #17 Arizona, the University of Texas Longhorns continue to lead the CSCAA / TYR Top 25.
Mount St. Mary’s Adds Men’s Team
For only the second time since 1998, a NCAA Division I institution has added men’s swimming and diving to its athletic department. Mount St. Mary’s University President Simon Newman announced that the university, perhaps best known for legendary basketball coach Jim Phelan, will begin competition this Fall. This marks the first newly-established men’s Division I team since Manhattan University added swimming in 2008.
99th Straight Win Highlights Georgia’s Run to #1

The University of Georgia captured every first-place vote to lead the College Swimming Coaches Association of America / TYR Top 25.
It was the second-straight poll that Georgia has led the poll, but streaks are nothing new to the Bulldogs. With their 173.5-121.5 win over Tennessee, Georgia has won its 99th consecutive meet at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

Georgia Women Drop UVA from Top Spot

After leading the College Swimming Coaches Association of America / TYR Top 25 Swimming & Diving Poll for much of the year, the University of Virginia was replaced at the top by the University of Georgia. “We are proud of what this team is doing, and it means a great deal that others are recognizing our accomplishments.”
