Convention Schedule Unveiled

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) is pleased to announce its draft agenda for its 2021 Convention. This year’s convention will take place online from May 3-6. To make the convention valuable and accessible the CSCAA has doubled the speakers lineup while also slashing registration rates.
Coaches Ask NCAA to Delay Recruiting
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) is calling on the NCAA to limit recruiting in the upcoming year. In a letter to members of the NCAA’s Student-Athlete Experience Committee (SAEC) and Division I Council Coordination Committee (CCC), the association requested an extension of the current recruiting dead period until December and a prohibition on on-campus visits through March of 2021.
CSCAA Statement on Extra Eligibility
In light of the NCAA Division I Council Coordination Committee’s support of eligibility relief for athletes in Spring sports, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association is compelled to express our opposition to similar relief to Winter athletes. While this position may be counter-intuitive, our rationale behind this decision is twofold.

USA Swimming has released an update to the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) that will provide a collective sigh of relief for college coaches getting ready to begin recruiting tomorrow, June 15th.
For Swimming & Diving, Early Recruiting Reform Has Opposite Effect

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), on behalf of Division I swimming & diving, is calling on the NCAA Council to exempt swimming and diving from Proposal 2018-93 when it comes up for a vote this week.
