CSCAA Welcomes Herbie Behm, Stefanie Williams Moreno to Board; Announces Leadership Transitions

April 28, 2026 — The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced today updates to its Board of Directors, including leadership transitions and the addition of two new board members.

As part of its standard governance cycle, the CSCAA will see changes within its executive leadership. Mandy DiSalle will complete her term after serving in the President-Elect, President, and Past President roles.

Rachel Stratton-Mills of Northwestern will move into the role of President, Arthur Albiero of Louisville will serve as Past President, and Herbie Behm of Arizona State has been elected as President-Elect.

Behm serves as the Director of Swimming and Diving at Arizona State and has helped lead one of the most successful programs in the country in recent years. Under his leadership, the Sun Devils have captured NCAA team championships and produced Olympic and World Championship-level athletes. Recognized for his innovative approach and competitive drive, Behm has played a key role in elevating Arizona State on the national stage.

“Herbie brings tremendous energy, creativity, and bold thinking to the Board,” said CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany. “He will challenge us to consider new ideas and opportunities while also honoring the traditions and values that make our sport so meaningful.”

In addition to its executive leadership transitions, the CSCAA will also welcome a new member to its Board of Directors.

Jeanne Fleck of Fresno State will conclude her service on the Board in May after reaching her term limit. During her tenure, Fleck played an important role in advancing the mission of the CSCAA and supporting its membership. She also spearheaded the CSCAA Mentoring Program, grounded in her deep belief that coaches need one another throughout their coaching journey.

Stefanie Williams Moreno, the Tom Cousins Women’s Swimming & Diving Head Coach at the University of Georgia, has been elected to fill Fleck’s seat. Moreno leads one of the nation’s premier women’s swimming programs and has been part of multiple NCAA Championship teams at Georgia. Known for her athlete-centered approach and consistency in developing elite performers, she has earned widespread respect across the collegiate coaching community.

“Stefanie is a longtime respected coach whose poise, thoughtfulness, and steady leadership will be a tremendous asset to our Board,” Barany said. “She brings a measured and collaborative approach that will make a positive impact as we continue to support our coaches and shape the future of our sport.”

“We are grateful to Jeanne and Mandy for their dedication to the CSCAA Board and to our sport,” Barany added. “We are also excited to welcome Stefanie and Herbie to the Board and to continue working with Rachel and Arthur as they step into their new roles. Together, this group reflects the depth, experience, and energy of our membership and will help guide the CSCAA forward.”

Matt Crispino of Princeton has been re-elected as Secretary, and Matthew Barany of Richmond has been re-elected as Treasurer. These one-year appointments were approved by the membership, with Crispino receiving 97.5% approval and Barany receiving 92.5% approval.

The 2026–2027 CSCAA Board of Directors will begin their term on Monday, May 4th at the CSCAA Annual Meetings in Chicago. Registration for the Annual Meetings remains open, and additional information can be found at https://cscaa.org/annual-meetings.
