Three Records Fall on Night Two of NIC Presented By TYR

OCALA, Fla. — The CSCAA National Invitational Championship, presented by TYR, continued Friday night at the FAST facility in Ocala, Florida, with another evening of record-breaking swims, tight finishes, and standout performances across the pool.

After two days of competition, Ohio State continues to lead the women’s standings with 377.5 points. Kentucky remains second with 348 points, while Rice moved into third place. Akron (303) and Queens (290.5) round out the top five.

On the men’s side, the standings remain unchanged as Queens increased its lead with 549.5 points. Ohio State (489.5) sits in second, followed by Grand Canyon (459.5). Duke (363) and George Washington (318) complete the top five.

Women’s 200 Medley Relay

Queens opened the evening with a relay victory as Abigail Zboran, Libby Livesay, Maddie Foster, and Maren Patterson combined for a winning time of 1:38.88.

Men’s 200 Medley Relay

Queens swept the medley relays as Pablo Ortega, Matheus Przewalla, Emil Harlem, and Stamatis Paleocrassas touched first in 1:25.30.

Women’s 400 IM

Jessica Eden (Ohio State) delivered one of the night’s biggest swims, breaking a NIC RECORD that had stood since 2015 with a time of 4:10.70. Eden also defended her title in the event after winning it last year.

Men’s 100 Butterfly

The men’s 100 butterfly provided our most exciting and closest finish of the night. After winning the 50 backstroke Thursday, Alex Volkov (Grand Canyon) returned to the podium, winning the 100 butterfly in 46.68, just ahead of Hamish McLellan (Denver).
