100 Alumni of Impact

The CSCAA100 List of 100 Alumni of Impact seeks to recognize 100 college swimmers and divers who have gone onto tremendous success beyond the pool. These nominees will be evaluated and selected on the basis of their contributions to society in areas such as business, science, government, the military, and education. Secondary consideration will be given to their athletic accomplishments and the impact of the sport in their development.

Nomination Suggestions

The Centennial Selection Committee evaluates nominations largely on the information you submit, and you should assume they do not know nor have heard of your nominee. Write a powerful and concise nomination and be as detailed and specific as possible. Proofread to avoid errors and to ensure all the information is accurate and complete.

Your nomination should include a 1-2 sentence summary of the nominee’s impact.

In your nomination, tell a compelling, powerful story, highlighting essential and inspirational accomplishments while being economical in your story. A long nomination is not necessarily better. Quality is more important than quantity. For example, a copy of every award the nominee received is discouraged; a list of awards will suffice.

Nomination Dos:

Differentiate your nominee from all others in their category. How do his/her contributions differ from others? What differentiates their accomplishments from other deserving nominees?
Address the criteria separately and completely; provide specific examples if useful
Work collaboratively with others to gather information; talk to co-nominators, community members, colleagues, family and friends. In cases where an individual receives multiple nominations, only one will be used to evaluate the candidate.
Provide any supporting documentation that can verify the candidate’s accomplishments.

Do not submit letters of recommendation or extraneous supporting documentation. It will not be distributed to the committee.
Do not exceed the word limits for nominees.
