Arizona State, Virginia Lead December Polls

Arizona State has wrestled the top spot away from Texas, who previously unseated California.

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the December Edition of the 2022-23 Division I Top 25 Dual Meet Ranks. The committee, comprised of Division I coaches and select media outlets, ranks the top 25 teams in the nation based on dual meet strength. The committee uses head-to-head results as the top consideration. Common opponents and simulations are also considered when establishing monthly rankings. This poll does not predict top finishers in a championship meet format.

On the men's side, there is a new leader in the clubhouse! The Arizona State Sun Devils (438 points) made a huge jump from fifth to take the top spot from the Texas Longhorns (432). California (415) dropped to third while Florida (399) and NC State (372) round out the top five. Of the top 25 teams, twenty appeared on all ballots. A total of thirty men’s teams earned at least one vote. Worth note is that #9 Auburn and #17 Arizona each increased their November point totals by more than 110 points.

On the women's side, Virginia (440 points) reclaimed the throne from Texas (439) by the narrowest of margins. Stanford (413) and NC State (398) maintained the third and fourth ranks, respectively, while Ohio State (372) jumped into the fifth spot. Of the top 25 teams, nineteen teams appeared on all ballots. A total of twenty-eight women's teams earned at least one vote. Worth note is that #11 California made the biggest leap by increasing their November point total by 51 points.
