NIC Spectator Policy Announced
General spectators will not be permitted at the the 2022 National Invitational Championship. This decision has been made as a result of local health guidance, the growth of the championship, and a need to utilize spectator seating for student-athletes. The Championship will be streamed live, March 10, 11 and 12th at www.cscaa.org.
While the event will not be open to the public, there will be a limited number of spectator opportunities for individuals interested in volunteering to time at the meet. Volunteers who are selected will be provided an event t-shirt and permitted to attend the other session on their assigned day(s). Individuals interested in timing may apply at https://toptim.es/NICTimers. through Monday, February 21st.
Signing up is NOT a guarantee of selection, and individuals selected to time will be notified by Friday, February 25th, and be required to provide proof of Covid vaccination by Monday, March 1st. The CSCAA will make every effort to accommodate as many volunteers as possible, however parents of current seniors will be prioritized.
About the National Invitational Championship
In April of 2017, the NCAA approved a waiver that will exempt the event, the competition, and practices leading up to it, from institutions’ declared playing and practice seasons. Since its inception more than eighty Division I programs have participated in the event. The NIC provides a culminating event for those Division I swimmers and divers that have achieved B/Zone standards but are not selected for the NCAA Division I Championships.
