Emory sits atop both Men's and Women's November Poll

Emory reigns supreme in DIII

November 17, 2023 - Lewisburg, PA - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the November edition of Division III Top 25 dual meet poll. The Emory Men and Women are the current top dual meet teams in the country. The Emory men were ranked first in the Preseason poll while the Women were projected second.

The committee, consisting of Division III coaches, assesses and ranks the nation's top 25 dual meet teams. Their evaluation takes into account head-to-head dual meet outcomes, performances since the last rankings, season-long  performances, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It's important to note that the poll's objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.

On the men's side, the Eagles (450 points) took every first-place vote to keep second place Kenyon (432 points) at an arm's length. Chicago (414) kept the top 3 in tact from our preseason polls, but the remaining 22 places had quite the shake-up. Calvin made a huge eight spot leap from 12th to 4th, while Pomona-Pitzer (7) and Johns Hopkins (9) each made six spot improvements. Trinity (TX), Amherst and Coast Guard all make their debut on the year.

For the women, Emory was unanimously chosen as the top team with 400 points.  Denison (384) comes in at second,  Kenyon (364) appears at third. Williams (354) is fourth and NYU (316) rounds out the top 5. Bowdoin was the biggest mover on the Women's side from 19 to 15, while The Coast Guard Academy and UW-Eau Claire represent the debut teams on the women's side. While there is a clear top 5 in the early season, the middle portion of the poll is tightly contested.

It is important to note that on both the Men's and Women's polls, some of the teams in the Top 25 have not competed yet this season.

*Note: Votes were collected prior to any Mid-Season Invitationals

Each committee includes 17 representatives from the four Division III Regions. The women and men committee chairs are Jake Taber (Hope) and Sean Tedesco (USMMA). This was the first poll of the season.

The remaining polls are scheduled for release on: December 15, January 26, February 9 and Friday March 1. Dates are subject to adjustment
