Drury Men and Colorado Mesa Women Lead December DII Polls
December 20, 2024 - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has released the December edition of the Division II Top 25 dual meet poll, with the Drury men and Colorado Mesa women claiming the top spots.
The committee, made up of Division II coaches, evaluates and ranks the nation's top 25 dual meet teams based on several factors. These include head-to-head dual meet results, performances since the last rankings, season-long achievements, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It's important to note that the poll is not intended to predict top finishers in a championship meet format.
The Drury University men (295) climbed two spots to secure the top position in the December poll. Tampa (289) and Colorado Mesa (271) complete the top three. Indianapolis (269) and Grand Valley State (255) held steady at fourth and fifth, respectively. Florida Southern (16) made an impressive leap, rising five spots from 21,. Northern Michigan (9) and Ouachita Baptist (13) each gained three spots. Meanwhile, Lynn (15), Missouri S&T (24), and Colorado School of Mines (25) entered the top 25 for the first time this season. In total, 30 teams received votes.
The Colorado Mesa Mavericks (246) jumped five spots to claim the top position in this month's women's poll. Indianapolis (240) narrowly edged out Drury (234) for second, while Tampa (213) and Nova Southeastern (211) completed the top five. Lynn University (10) made a notable move, climbing nine spots to break into the top 10. McKendree (17), Wayne State (19), Colorado School of Mines (21), Minnesota State (24), and Oklahoma Christian (25) all entered the top 25 after being unranked last month.
*Dual meet records are sourced from each institution's website.
