Arizona State and Virginia Remain atop CSCAA Polls
December 14, 2023 - Lewisburg, PA - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the December edition of the Division I Top 25 dual meet poll. The Arizona State men and University of Virginia women retain a firm hold on the top spots in the country. These are our first polls following the completion of the majority of Mid-Season Invitationals.
The committee, consisting of Division I coaches, assesses and ranks the nation's top 25 dual meet teams. Their evaluation takes into account head-to-head dual meet outcomes, performances since the last rankings, season-long performances, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It's important to note that the poll's objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.
In the men's rankings, the Sun Devils earned the unanimous top spot after strong performances throughout invite season with 350 points. Florida (333) and Cal (324) round out the top 3, while NC State (309) and Indiana (286) finish up the top five. The programs with the biggest jumps up the poll were Texas moving from 13 up to the 8 spot and Michigan from 25 all the way up to 17. Making their debut in the rankings this month were Southern Methodist-24th, and The Naval Academy-25th. In all, 30 teams received votes.
In the women's rankings, the top-ranked Cavaliers continued to perform well throughout the mid-season invitationals coming in as the unanimous top women's team in the country with 375 points. There was a strong consensus amongst voters in the top four with Texas (358), Florida (341) and Southern Cal (330) appearing in the top five or better on each ballot. Both Cal 9th and Michigan 16th moved up 4 spots on the ballot, our two biggest risers. Florida State-23rd and Princeton-24th have made their first appearances in the 2023-24 Top 25. Overall, 30 programs received votes.

Each committee includes ten representatives from the Power Five leagues and five at-large programs. The women and men committee chairs are Naya Higashijima (NMU) and Bill Roberts (Navy).
The 2023-2024 Division I polls are scheduled for release on: Thursday January 25, 2024; Thursday February 8, 2024 and Thursday February 29, 2024. Dates are subject to adjustment
