Jean Freeman Scholarship Applications Open!
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) proudly announces the commencement of the application process for the esteemed Jean Freeman Scholarship. This scholarship, named in honor of the revered coaching legend Jean Freeman, seeks to recognize and support collegiate coaches who embody the exceptional qualities demonstrated by Freeman throughout her career.
The Jean Freeman Scholarship aims to acknowledge the remarkable contributions of collegiate coaches whose leadership, integrity, competitive attitude, and personal graciousness reflect the values epitomized by Jean Freeman. Six deserving recipients will be selected annually, receiving Annual Meetings and Coach Academy registration, transportation, and lodging to CSCAA Annual Meetings in Indianapolis in May.

All applications must be submitted by January 31, 2024 to be considered.
Jean Freeman, a pioneer in women’s collegiate athletics, made an indelible mark on the swimming community through her 31-year coaching career at the University of Minnesota. Her accomplishments include two Big Ten Championships, coaching national champions and numerous All-Americans, and being a trailblazer as one of the first women to become a full-time NCAA Division I head coach. Freeman's commitment to the sport, leadership, and mentorship serves as the inspiration behind this scholarship program.
The Jean Freeman Scholarship stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of a coaching luminary and aims to empower the next generation of collegiate coaches who demonstrate excellence and embody the values championed by Jean Freeman.
